Japan, no matter how many times I visit, I still love going there.

She tried talking to me—super friendly 😉—but here’s the thing: one, my wife was literally taking the photo of me at that moment, and two, the only Japanese I know is how to order ramen. So all she got from me was “Tonkotsu, onegai!” and a confused smile. Unless she also worked part-time at a noodle shop, I probably came off as a very polite lunatic craving soup. 🍜😅

Ah, crêpes... my grin says it all. I looked like a kid who had just discovered that dessert for breakfast is a real thing. I wasn't smiling; my face was just trying to hold in the sugar explosion happening in my soul. 😄🥞

Who invented a 3D cat walking on a high-rise? Just asking. Was someone like, “You know what this city skyline needs? A giant holographic feline casually strutting 40 stories up like it owns the mortgage.” Probably still pays less rent than I do!

Yeah, sure, because nothing says 'I'm spiritually connected' like precariously balancing a bunch of rocks that could tumble at any moment. 'You’re balancing the deep time of geology with the human time in a cairn,' you can say, while I nod thoughtfully and pretend not to panic about gravity. But hey, it's a profound connection, right? And set against one of the most beautiful cities in the world, I mean, how could I not love living here? Even if I’m constantly worried about rocks falling on my foot.

I am testing a new camera, a Nikon Z30, and so far so good. Good grip, a big 3" display, and no EVF though, so I guess I need to get used to this. As a long-time Nikon user, menus are not a problem, big plastic buttons, are pretty familiar.
